The Sydney French Festival – The Bastille Festival [2019]


The 2019 Bastille Festival is a Sydney based French art, wine, and food festival. The festival is known for its authentic and delicious French food.

There are at least 100 food stalls that stock French food and serve lunch, dinner, and breakfast. The festival usually lasts for four days.

There’s nothing as tantalizing as watching chefs prepare fresh raclette in your presence. You’ll get to choose from delicious crepes, patisseries, melting cheeses, and more.


You’ll also get a taste of the most reputable French wines during the festival. Simply walk through Loire Valley, Rhone Valley, Bordeaux, Alsace, Languedoc, Provence, Burgundy and sip from at least 32 exquisite varieties of French wine.

You can as well pop some champagne as you explore the event. The event will also include a French cheese and wine feast matching that comprises of eight wines and eight French cheeses, but you’ll need a ticket for this event.



You’ll experience at least 100 shows free of charge within 4 days. These shows include live bands, DJs, fire shows, cabaret, theatre, magicians, and circus acts.

You shouldn’t miss out on these shows as they’re free for everyone.


A Mulled French Wine Cinema by Citroen

Another event that will grace the Bastille cultural celebrations is the much-loved outdoor cinema, popularly known as Le Cinema in French. It’ll take place on the Tallawoladah Lawn.

It’ll be an amazing experience to snuggle in your warm blanket as you sip some mulled wine while seated on a deck chair watching a film on a winter night.

You’ll get to enjoy assorted family-friendly shows and French comedies, including works by the greatest French directors. You’ll need a ticket for the cinema shows.

The festival will take place at Circular Quay in Sydney NSW, Australia.


From 11th to 13th July 2019, 10:00 am to 11:00 pm and on 14th July 2019, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.


Free entrance, excluding ticketed events.
